SAIS’s education programmes are not confined to the four walls of the classroom. We go beyond this encouraging and guiding students to have ‘Tadabbur’ over the creation of the world around us. Hence, we introduced our unique programme of ‘Walking Through Nature’. It is the recommendation of the Creator as stated in the holy Qur’an, the Almighty said, in surah al-Hajj, verse 46:
“So, have they not travelled through the earth and have hearts by which to reason and ears by which to hear?”
In fact, it is one of His commands. The Creator said, in surah al-‘Ankaboot, verse 20:
“Say [O Muhammad], Travel through the land and observe how He began creation. Then Allah will produce the final creation. Indeed Allah, over all things, is competent.”
Walking Through Nature, while one’s mind is pondering and the heart is awake is one of the great acts of worship that pleases the Creator. Beside this there are a number of benefits for the worshipper, including the following:
- Revives and boosts one’s belief.
- Helps a person to increase the humbleness, when nature is discovered.
- Encourages one to seek more knowledge and to get to know the Creator more.
- Identifies the human’s weaknesses.
Hence, we encourage our students and the community as a whole, to practise this great activity. We are always keen to hold an outing with our
students and the local community where we try together to discover the evidence of Allah; ‘Nature’.
“They have not appraised Allah with true appraisal. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might.”
Summer 2018 – Windsor Great park
On Sunday 22nd July 2018, a beautiful sunny day, we had a number of SAIS students with their families to explore evidence in one of the great parks in England; Windsor Great park. It was a wonderful day, full of excitement, joy and let’s not forget food. We fulfilled the primary objective of experiencing, and learning more about nature to boost our imaan with our guide; Sheikh Ahmad Barouni.
Winter 2021
Introduction
We would like to experience and ponder upon Allah’s evidence in this nature during the winter season. The period where we prefer to keep warm and avoid the rain, snow and cold. To see the effects of the harsh winter upon nature brings greater awe and love of Allah to our hearts, this in turn will strengthen our belief. We expect this experience will increase our appreciation towards the Creator.
When and Where?
We are currently looking into more than one place to visit. We will finalise the plan shortly.
