SAIS Terms

We ask all students to read the following policies and to ensure that our terms are adhered to:

1. General

1.1. SAIS will add the students contact (phone number) to a WhatsApp group in order to receive updates from SAIS.
1.2. SAIS will add the students email address to the SAIS mailing list in order to receive any updates from SAIS.
1.3. Students are not allowed to promote any commercial or charitable organisation without SAIS’s permission taken in advance.
1.4. SAIS does not allow for students to share the login information with anybody else.
1.5. All students are required to keep the login information for themselves only.
1.6. Students will be asked to agree to the terms of this policy as part of the enrolment process at the start of each term/year of study.
1.7. Students are NOT allowed to record the lesson neither audio nor visual.

2. Attendance and absence

2.1. All students are requested to keep the best punctuality.
2.2. The teacher does not have to repeat lesson to those students who are late for the session.
2.3. If for any unforeseen circumstances a lesson has to be cancelled notification will be sent via email and/or text message to the numbers given on the application form. It is the duty of the student to ensure we are kept aware of any changes to your personal information.
2.4. Students should inform SAIS of their absence via email, text message or a WhatsApp message.

3. Classroom

3.1. Mobile phones must not be used during the lessons and should be switched off.
3.2. Students should not talk to each other whilst the teacher is instructing the class.
3.3. All students are requested to look after the equipment in the class (tables and chairs, etc)
3.4. A 15 – 20 minutes break will be given during the lesson; however, students must finish their refreshments within that time.
3.5. Students should dispose of their rubbish before leaving the classroom.
3.6. Students are requested not to chew chewing gum in the lessons.
3.7. Students are not permitted to bring family or friends to the classroom, however if any student wishes to enrol a friend or a member of his/her family in one of SAIS courses, this should be done with prior notice and outside of the lesson time.
3.8. All students are requested to keep the toilets clean after use.

4. Learning and Teaching

4.1. SAIS does not provide course books in a hard copy. Online copies will be sent/made available to students once enrolment has been completed.
4.2. All students are requested to bring their course folder with them at all times. The folder can be taken from you and assessed at any time by the class teacher and/or other academic SAIS staff.
4.3. All students should feel free to ask the teacher any question during the class time; however,
4.4. Students are not permitted to ask about matters unrelated to the subject being taught.
4.5. All students are requested to prepare the lesson before attending the class.
4.6. All students are requested to learn the new vocabulary in every lesson by the following week, where applicable.
4.7. All students are requested to write notes from the teachers’ explanations.
4.8. SAIS will ensure that lessons are delivered in an appropriate and suitable format.
4.9. All students are requested to login to their account to be aware of the objectives.

5. Homework & Exams

5.1. All the homework, exams and assignments are optional whenever required.
5.2. Not all SAIS classes require homework. However;
5.3. Students are requested to complete their homework on time for those classes which require it.
5.4. Not all SAIS classes require exams at the end of the study. However,
5.5. Students have to sit their end of term exams if they require an Ijazah.
5.6. All students are requested to complete their end of term assignments.
5.7. Students are requested to login to their account to check if there are any requirements from the teacher.

6. Zoom (online classes)

6.1. All students will receive a Zoom link for their classes.
6.2. Students are requested to login to their SAIS account or see their WhatsApp group for the Zoom link.
6.3. Students are not permitted to share the link with anybody else.
6.4. Students are requested to keep their microphone on mute all the time unless if they have a question.
6.5. Students are requested to keep their camera off all the time during the lesson.
6.6. Students are requested to login to Zoom on time.
6.7. Students who join the lesson late are requested not to disturb the teaching by greeting or apologising for their lateness.
6.8. Students are strongly requested to have their course book in front of them during the Zoom lesson.
6.9. Students are requested to have their notepad and stationary ready before the lesson starts.

7. Complaints

7.1. Should you have any reason to complain about the service offered to you by SAIS you may in the first instance:
7.2. Write an email with a full explanation of your complaint. SAIS office should contact you within a week from receiving the email.
7.3. Should you still not be satisfied you will be offered a meeting with the principal.
