SAIS (School of Arabic & Islamic Studies), established in 2009, is the only Centre of Knowledge in and around West London specialising in teaching adults, the language of the Qur’an and related Islamic Studies subjects. Our classes are held 7 days a week and these continued via Zoom during the lockdown caused by Covid-19. I am very pleased that SAIS is offering online Courses from the new academic year starting Sept 2020.
SAIS is a unique institution which provides pure and authentic knowledge, through structured Courses, based on the Qur’an and Sunnah (teachings of the Prophet Muhammad saw). It is an immense achievement and honour for SAIS to have a large number of students who are committed and dedicated to learning, some of whom have been with us since our inception 11 years ago. Many have acquired the ‘ijazah’ (Islamic Certification) in areas of Islamic Studies and Quran. Some of our Students have moved on to become teachers of Arabic and Qur’an.
It is time to remind ourselves that the words and knowledge that had such positive influence and profound effect on individuals, countries and kingdoms, that changed the course of great civilisations, is still here and alive and will remain so, with all its glory and magnificence, until the end of time. The authentic and beneficial knowledge of Islam is needed more than ever before in these fast changing, strange and confusing times, to help us be the architect of our destiny and empower us to deal with situations and realities that we face today.
The path to learning is always strewn with obstacles and barriers. Your decision to start learning may not be an easy one and everything from your family through to your work commitments may hinder you from achieving your aims. Remember, even one step towards beneficial learning is an act of worship and it will bring you closer to Allah and help you to gain His pleasure.
You may conquer the world with bravery and might, but you will not take it with you to your grave. Let us pray to Allah ta’ala that we all remain steadfast in our endeavours, so that you and us, together, will progress to new heights insha’Allah.
