This course aims to provide students at an advance level of Qur’an recitation to improve their confidence and precision whilst applying all the Tajweed rules they have learnt. Level 3 mainly introduces the student to the ‘stop and start’ rules in the Quran. The course is based on both theory and practice so that by the end, the student will be familiar with all the types of the ‘stop and start’ rules.

The course will be taught in English whilst preserving the Arabic terminology for the rules. Students wishing to enrol should have successfully completed SAIS - level Two in Tajweed or equivalent.

Furthermore, students are required to have memorized Juz’ Amma (chapter 30) or most of it before joining the course.
The main textbook that will be used as the point of reference will be book three of ‘Tajweed of the Quran (Part 3)’ by Kareema Carol Czerepinski. This will be provided by the School at the beginning of the course.

The teacher will also use supplementary hand-outs as well as audio tools to demonstrate levels of recitation and correct application of the rules discussed. Students are also encouraged to bring and use one Mus-haf which they are familiar with, as this will aid them with retention of the rules as well as memorisation of the Qur’an.
Homework will be given every lesson to keep the student connected with the subject. It carries 20 % of the total mark to pass to the next level. At the end of the course students will take a written exam which carries 50 % of the total mark as well as an oral exam, (Reciting) which carries 30 %.
There are many Tajweed references to support students in this level. However, most of these are in the Arabic language which may not suitable for non-Arabic speaking students. Only those students who are registered for the course will get the detailed references list. Here are some of the most well-known books written in English:
