The course is aimed to cover in depth the supplements rules of Arabic Grammar. It is designed over 1 term to comprehend and consolidate the accusative rules. Level 3C course is taught mainly in Arabic with limited use of English, for explanations the rules only. There is a balance between communicative activities, structure practice, grammar and vocabulary. Class size is limited to 20 students to maximise interactive learning.

Vocabulary Areas

The vocabulary areas used in this level consists of common items occur in the everyday vocabulary of native speakers using the target language today in a range of predictable everyday areas. Also, it is consisting of common religious terms used in Fiqh. Some items may be glossed to aid students. Please consult the vocabulary detailed list for more information.
This course is aimed at students who have successfully completed level Three B with SAIS or a suitable equivalent.
The text book that will be used is ‘The Arabic Course of Madinah Islamic University for English Students, vol. 3 (chapter 27 – end of the book)’ by Professor V. Abd Al-Raheem. Other texts will also be used throughout the course to aid learning however it will not be necessary to buy these books or for SAIS to provide different textbooks as online copies and handouts will be given out when different material is used by the teachers. Also, electronic and short videos will also be used to help the students during the course.
Homework will be given every lesson in order to help the student to connect with the subject, homework carries 48 % of the total end of level mark. The homework will be biased on particular exercises from the text book, as well as from Surah Al-‘Araaf (Surah no 7). There will also be a mid-term assessment as well as the end of the course exam which carries 52 % of the total mark. This exam will be based on the reading and writing skills covered at this level.
