At SAIS, we have many students who have completed the Arabic Grammar courses over the years. However, we always encourage students to sit a revision course for what they have studied. Here we are again, taking the responsibility to educate our students and the rest of the community with one of the most important and essential tools to understand the religion, as Sheikh-ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (d. 728 h) said in (Iqtidā As-Sirāt Al-Mustaqīm) (1. 527):
“Indeed, the Arabic language itself is from the religion. Knowledge of it is compulsory, since understanding the Book (Qur’an) and the Sunnah is compulsory, neither of which is understood except through understanding the language. And that which is required to fulfil a wājib also becomes wājib, in and of itself.”
